Fatimah (S.A), the only daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)
سلام،
همون مقاله ای که در پست قبلی به اون اشاره کردم را اينجا می توانيد مطالعه کنيد. از آقای دکتر تقوی هم که زحمت تهيه و ارسال آن را کشيدند، متشکرم.
Fatimah (S.A), the only daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), was born in Mecca on 20th jamadia thani, 5 years before hijrah. The good and noble lady Khadijah (S.A) and the Apostle of Allah bestowed all their natural love, care and devotion on their lovable and only daughter Fatimah, who in her turn was extremely fond of her parents.
The Princess of the House of the Prophet was very intelligent, accomplished and cheerful. Her sermons, poems and sayings serve, as an index to her strength of character and nobility of mind. Her virtues gained her the title "Our Lady of Light". She was tall, slender and endowed with great beauty, which caused her to be called “Az-Zahra".
It is most difficult to speak about the personality of Fatima. Fatima is the woman that Islam wants a woman to be. The concept of her visage is painted by the Prophet himself. He melted her and made her pure in the fire of difficulties, poverty, resistance, deep understanding, and the wonder of humanity.
After arriving in Medina, she was married to "Ali (S.A), in the first year after Hijrah, and she gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Her children, Hassan, Husain, Zaynab and Umm Kulthum (S.A) are well-known for their piety, goodness and generosity. Their strength of character and actions changed the course of history.
The Holy Prophet said, "Fatimah is a piece of my heart". He would go out to receive his daughter whenever she came from her husband’s house. Every morning on his way to the Mosque, he would pass by Fatimah’s house and say, "as-Salamu "alaykum ya ahli bayti "n-nubuwwah wa ma"dani "r-risalah" (peace be on you O Household of the Prophethood and the Source of Messengership).
Fatimah is famous and acknowledged as "Sayyidatu nisa"i "l-"alamin" (Leader of all the women of the world for all times) because the Prophethood of Muhammad would not have been everlasting without her. The Prophet is the perfect example for men, but could not be so for women. For all the verses revealed in the Holy Qur’an for women, Fatimah is the perfect model, who translated every verse into action. In her lifetime, she was a complete woman, being Daughter, Wife and Mother at the same time. As a daughter, she loved her parents so much, that she won their love and regard to a great extent. Fatima Zahra (S.A.), most of all resembled her father in her looks, character, behaviour and conduct. The love between the father and daughter was not a one-way process; instead, Fatima (S.A.) too immensely loved her father (Prophet) like he loved her. When Hazrat Khatija (S.A.) died, she was not more than six years of age. After the death of her mother, she always looked after the comfort of her father at home. Fatima (S.A.) was such a daughter who constantly and stably followed the footsteps of her father. The streets and Masjid-e-Haram of Mecca were full of those who teased, insulted and tortured the Prophet (P.B.U.H.). Whenever her respect worthy father returned home in the injured condition, she would wash the blood off his sacred face and dress his wounds and encouraged him with her sweet conversation.
At such times, her father was a stranger in his own land and among his own people and he was all alone with all the relatives present, and secluded and lonely among all those who spoke the same language he spoke. Moreover, he was all-alone during his struggle and combat against ignorance, idol worshipping and he was carrying the heavy responsibility of preaching on his own.
Then and only was it Fatima (S.A.) who pleased and consoled the heart of her father with her sincere love and affection. She by accepting the Prophecy of her father strengthened his hopes.
As a wife, Fatima (S.A) was very devoted. She never asked "Ali for anything in her whole life. As a mother, she cared for and brought up wonderful children; they have left their marks on the face of the world, which time will not be able to erase.
The death of the Apostle, affected her very much and she was very sad and grief-stricken and wept her heart out crying all the time. The tragedy of her father’s death was too much for the good, gentle and sensitive lady and she breathed her last breath just a few months after the death of her father, the Holy Prophet of Islam. Fatimah died in the prime of her life at the age of eighteen, and till today no one knows where her grave lies.
The memory of Fatima grew with the love, emotions and wonderful faith of the men and women, who throughout the history of Islam, fought for freedom and justice. This is why in the history of all Muslim nations and among the deprived masses of the Islamic community; Fatima is the source of the inspiration for freedom and the desire of that which is a right. She is a symbol in all the various dimensions of being a woman.
The symbol of a daughter when facing her father.
The symbol of a wife when facing her husband.
The symbol of a mother when facing her children.
The symbol of a responsible, fighting woman when facing her time and the fate of her society.
